Ward Commits to A-State

It did not take long for Lee (Texas) College forward Adam Ward to pull the trigger on his commitment to the Arkansas State basketball program.

Lee, who is 6-foot-5, 220 pounds, arrived in Jonesboro on Friday and within a matter of hours he became the fourth player to make a pledge to

He will be a red-shirt sophomore at Lee, which is located in Baytown, Texas. He drew some starts last season and played to role of a defensive specialist. He shot 60 percent from the field and averaged 3 rebounds and 1 block per game.

"I look at my role is the help bring energy to the team and play defense," he said.

At Atascocita High School , he was named co-defensive play of the year in the 14-5A conference his senior season and was first team all-conference. He said he averaged 5 blocks a game in high school.

"I know there were some other schools interested but I don't really know who they were because my coach handled all of that," he said.

"I really liked Jonesboro and ASU.

Lee College starts its season on November 1.
