A-State Caravan: Little Rock

AState fans got the chance to meet with Red Wolf coaches and administrators at Cregeen's Irish Pub in North Little Rock. AStateNation brings you part of the action.

Blake Anderson spoke to the fans and outlined his philosophy of football and his desire to build on a loud and rowdy atmosphere at Centennial Bank Stadium. Anderson promised if fans would bring someone new with them to games that the action on the field would be so exciting they would want to come back.

Coach Anderson and Terry Mohajir fielded questions from the crowd later in the night.

Mohajir said he "doesn't see it happening" when asked about UMass joining the Sun Belt. He announced tha all the paperwork is signed for the new video board that will be installed this summer and insisted that it be the largest board in the league.

Coach Anderson said that the players will return on June 1 for summer workouts.

Dr. Welch discussed how the perception of AState has improved because of football but outlined the ways the university has grown academically the past few years.

Welch assured fans that the new pressbox is on track. "It is a done deal. It will happen," he said.

He added that fund-raising is progressing faster than expected and if some upcoming meetings go well, construction of the new ops center may begin at about the same time as the pressbox.
