2014 Sun Belt MLB Draft

The Sun Belt saw 23 players drafted in the Major League Baseball First-Year Players' Draft last weekend. No. 1 Louisiana led the way with seven player chosen followed by UT Arlington with six. Texas State was next with three players chosen and Georgia State had two. Arkansas State, South Alabama, UALR, ULM and WKU had a player each chosen while no player from Troy was drafted.

The team that chose the most Sun Belt Conference players was Tampa Bay with four. The Rays drafted Bradley Wallace (Arkansas State), Nic Wilson (Georgia State), Jace Conrad (Louisiana) and Matt Plitt (Louisiana).

This seasons' draft class was made up of 11 seniors and 12 underclassmen. All 12 underclassmen are juniors and can opt to remain in college for their senior season.

Seniors – Tyler Pearson, C (Chicago (N))
Juniors – Garrett Mattlage, SS (Detroit); Taylor Black, P (Colorado)

Georgia State Panthers:
Seniors – Nic Wilson, 1B (Tampa Bay); Chase Raffield, CF (St. Louis)
