Wilson Holds Off

Greenville (Texas) wide receiver D'erren Wilson was planning on announcing his college decision on Wednesday.

But things have changed.

"I talked with my parents and we decided I needed to visit these places and check on the atmosphere before we make a decision," said Wilson, who is 6-foot-3, 181 pounds.

Wilson was set to choose between BYU, Indiana and Arkansas State.

"I like all three schools,'' said Wilson, who picked up his ninth offer on Tuesday when North Texas came on board.

Wilson impressed the Red Wolves at the camp in Duncanville, Texas, which was hosted by East Texas Baptist and Arkansas State.

"They asked me to come down there and I really liked the coaches,'' he said. "That is when they offered me."

Wilson said he hoped he and his mother could visit the Jonesboro campus before the end of the summer.

"I like Arkansas State,'' he said. "I know they plan on throwing the ball around a lot and they have been winning. They are the best team in the Sun Belt Conference. They are going to have great facilities when all this is finished."

Coach Allen Johnson is the main recruiter on Wilson.
