The first steel is being erected for the new indoor practice facilty north of the stadium.
The facility is expected to be fully completed prior to the 2015 season.
Meanwhile in the south end zone a crane has been moved into place to begin the construction for the new video board.
Arkansas State athletic director Terry Mohajir said on Tuesday that the board is still on schedule to be ready for the home opening game against Montana State.
Mohajir said that there are some video boards that will be completed behind schedule around the country because of an issue with the steel required for the framework, but AState is not one of the schools expected to be impacted by the problem.
