Football Season Ticket Sales Rise

For the sixth consecutive season AState season ticket sales in football are up over the previous year.

Season packages hit a low in 2005. The then Indians were coming off a four win season after a few promising seasons with Steve Roberts. Arkansas State sold only 3,210 season tickets in 2005, down from 4,869 in Steve Roberts first season. Since then, AState has increased football season ticket sales each year except for 2008 when sales dipped by 152 from 2007.

While the 2014 home season is already underway, the numbers for this season are not final yet.

Arkansas State continues to sell season ticket packages for 2014. Purchasers of season ticket packages for the remainder of the season will be able to renew those season tickets in 2015 at the 2014 full-season price, if those tickets are renewed by the deadline.

Athletic Director Terry Mohajir says AState will start another big push on Monday to sell additional tickets.

“We need people to buy season tickets,” Mohajir said.

The Red Wolves have chosen to forego offers to relocate the Missouri game to Saint Louis and Kansas City to try to increase locally generated revenue. Season tickets are considered a vital element of budgeting in college athletics because the renewal numbers can be taken into account in drafting the budget for an upcoming year.
