More From Monday Practice

The Arkansas State Football team was back on the field Monday for the second practice of Spring drills.

Unlike the first practice on Friday, the sun was shining and you could tell the players were happy about it.

Coach Anderson commented on the improved weather, "...It was a little warmer and no rain...and they (the players) bounced around pretty good."

It appeared the players enjoyed the weather based on how fast everyone looked. The energy was high and a few players really stood out.

Fredi Knighten was sharp all day long. The returning starter seemed focused in each drill and the ball jumped off his hand when throwing. Michael "Flash" Gordon showed his trademark explosiveness and quickness. Gordon has also taken steps to improve his durability, including bulking up.

Said Gordon, "I'm trying to gain a weight...but I dont want to get to big."

In addition, Chris Stone knows this is a big year and says the young guys are starting to find their roles. Stone added, "I feel like guys had a much better grasp on the base concepts we put in."

Overall, the Red Wolves appeared to have a much better practice than Friday. The energy was high from the players and the coaches.

The Red Wolves will be back on the field Wednesday, March 18th for the 3rd practice of the Spring.

The Spring Game is April 17th at Centennial Bank Stadium at 6:00pm.
