Liner Transfers to AState

Remember all those defensive line worries of the 2014 season? Man have things changed.

The Arkansas State coaching staff addressed a lot of those needs with the addition of three experienced additions in the 2015 signing class and now there looks like even more help is one the way.

Former Alabama defensive lineman Dee Liner, a four-start recruit with multiple SEC offers coming out of high school in Muscle Shoals, Ala., announced on Twitter today he is coming to Arkansas State to resume his football career.

Liner will count toward the 2016 recruiting class. The 6-foot-3, 295-pounder will have to sit out the 2015 season.

Liner declined an interview but told AStateNation last week that AState "is my No. 1 right now."

He did visit A-State last month and has a relationship with A-State assistant coach Trooper Taylor.

Reports say Liner was also considering North Carolina and Jacksonville State.

He was a four-star prospect out of Muscle Shoals and signed with Alabama. Liner was rated as one of the top defensive linemen in the nation.

Liner announced in February he was released from a scholarship at Alabama.

He played in three games as a sophomore.
