Red Wolf Football Camps

The Arkansas State Red Wolves football coaching staff is on the road again.

Well they have been on the road for most of May but this time they are traveling as a unit to work at several camps in the south.

The Red Wolves are in the Atlanta area today, will hit Alabama (Birmingham and Mobile metros) twice on Tuesday and New Orleans and Jackson, Miss., on Wednesday.

It is the second year Blake Anderson’s staff has worked satellite camps. Anderson said he figures half of the Red Wolves’ 2015 recruiting class was first seen at camps.

“We like to evaluate the kids we offer, either in a camp or during their spring practice,’’ said Anderson. “We have been out doing that the past few weeks. We have hit every school in the state of Arkansas and we have gotten out to a lot of other schools in our recruiting area.”

The Red Wolves’ main recruiting area stretches from Texas to Atlanta. This week the Red Wolves will hit hard in those areas with the camps. Next week they have camps in Jonesboro on Sunday and Little Rock and Springdale on Monday. Late next week they will hit Texarkana and the Dallas Metroplex.

New NCAA rules does not allow for coaches to talk about or advertise the camps that are held in other states. The staff uses astatefootball.com and social media to spread the word.

The staff has issued a lot of offers to players in the Georgia, Alabama and south Louisiana areas this spring. It should be a busy week.
