2015 Ends Freeze Era for Arkansas State

It may seem like a short time ago that Hugh Freeze was the head coach at Arkansas State but the 2015 season will be the last time that players coached by Freeze will be on the field for AState.


The Red Wolves in 2015 will try to put together a fifth straight winning season. Six players will hope to make history by being a part of that team.

The last time Arkansas State went five years without a losing season was 1983 to 1987 and the 1983 team finished 5-5-1. A winning record in 2015 would be the first time AState has had five consecutive winning seasons was before the U.S. entered WWI.

Charleston Girley from Pine Bluff has been in on 49 tackles in his career, 21 of those last season despite playing only five games.

Darion Griswold, the TE from Dumas has 52 receptions and seven touchdowns.

J.D. McKissic from Phenix City, Alabama he comes into 2015 with 13 touchdowns, 9 receiving, two rushing, one passing, and one kickoff return for a TD. Has 2,313 yards receiving.

Steven Stevens the offensive lineman from Bay Minette, Alabama saw action in two games in 2012 with the defense, played on the offensive line in one game in 2013 and played on the offensive line in 2014.

Chris Stone, the defensive end from Daleville, Alabama has 131 tackles and was in on 48 tackles in 2014.

TeDarius Turner, defensive back from Memphis. He has played mostly special teams in addition to some action as a defensive back.
