Thursday night the Red Wolves will be shooting for their 15th straight conference win, sixth consecutive of the season, clinching bowl eligibility, maintaining control of their own destiny in the Sun Belt race and the first win over a top 25 team since defeating #25 Kent State in the GoDaddy Bowl in January of 2013.
The Trojans have reemerged as a force in the Sun Belt after being out of the conference race from 2011 to 2015. Their only loss this season was at Clemson.
Statistically, Troy looks great on paper leading AState in nearly every category. The Red Wolves pass yards per attempt of 8.06, 1.22 passing TD’s per game allowed, 57.22 penalty yards per game, opponent red zone TD scoring percentage of 47.09% and opponent punt return yards of 10.11 per attempt are the only statistical categories where AState leads.
