New Arkansas head basketball coach Mike Anderson made clear what his first order of business was on Thursday by heading straight to meet with the Razorbacks' three in-state signees.
Anderson met with Rashad Madden and Aaron Ross in Lepanto and then visited with Mickelson in Jonesboro.
While Madden and Ross weren't available for comment, Mickelson said he liked what he heard from Anderson and has plans to remain a Razorback.
"I think he is a really nice guy and very impressive," Mickelson said. "He just talked about what his plans were for the program and how I would be utilized and that left me very excited."
There had been some speculation that Mickelson might be the hardest of the three to keep on board since he wasn't recruited that hard by Anderson while at Missouri.
"Missouri sent me some letters and made contact," Mickelson said. "I was looking forward to sitting down with him and just wanted to see what he had to say, weigh it and make a decision."
That's still to be a Razorback.
"I am coming up there to play and see how fit in," Mickelson said. "I think he is very excited about being at Arkansas and we are very excited about the future."
Mickelson is playing baseball this spring and his team won a doubleheader to move to 10-0 this season.
The trio of Arkansas players and fellow Razorback signee B.J. Young are scheduled to play in the Jack Jones Shootout Sunday in Miami.
