White Hall standout Jeremy Sprinkle has now added the home-state school to his ever-growing list of scholarship offers.
After being named the defensive MVP Tuesday morning at Arkansas' camp, Sprinkle (6-5, 215, 4.5) – who worked at defensive end, tight and wide receiver - got an offer from the Razorbacks after he got off campus.
"I do not have a leader or list made up yet, but they would be near the top of my list now," Sprinkle told Scout.com's Chad Simmons after getting the offer. "This is the only camp I am going to this summer and I wanted an offer from them. I got it and that feels good."
He capped off a great camp by finishing in the top four of the fastest man competition – an event won by Fayetteville wideout Nathan Varady.
"I think I could have won it, but my calves cramped up," Sprinkle said. "I am not using that as an excuse or anything, though."
Entering the week, Sprinkle already had offers from Mississippi State, Kansas, Louisville, Memphis, Purdue, Arkansas State, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Monroe, UAPB and Ouachita Baptist.
Sprinkle, who had 73 tackles and 15 sacks last season, worked mostly with Razorback assistants Steve Caldwell (defensive ends) and Richard Owens (tight ends).
"Coach Caldwell is a good coach and he taught me how to use my hands and stuff," Sprinkle said. "(Coach Owens) worked on my first step at tight end...I play both, but I like tight end the most – catching the ball and all that."
Sprinkle said he may end up taking trips to Louisiana Tech and Ole Miss later this summer and is not in any hurry to make a decision.
"I am not close to making my decision yet and I know I will be taking my five official visits first," Sprinkle told Simmons. "I will start figuring out who I am going to visit soon, but I know Arkansas will be one of the schools I take a trip to."
