Last season's record: 10-3.
Returning starters/letterwinners: 15 starters (6 offense, 7 defense, 2 specialists)/45 lettermen (18 offense, 24 defense, 3 specialists).
Key losses: QB Ryan Mallett, 2 year starter and holder of almost every school passing record; TE D. J. Williams, Mackey Award winner as nation's best; OTs DeMarcus Love and Ray Dominguez.
Key returnees: There were 14 players named to the coaches pre-season All-SEC teams (three units), led by WR Greg Childs, WR Joe Adams, DE Jake Bequette, LB Jerry Franklin, S Tramain Thomas.
Best games: Sept. 24, at Alabama; Oct. 1 Texas A&M, at Arlington, Texas; Nov. 5 South Carolina, at Fayetteville; Nov. 25 at LSU.
Projected finish: Following the school's first BCS trip, the Razorbacks should be a contender in college football's best division, the SEC West. Tyler Wilson steps in for Ryan Mallett at quarterback in an offense that may have the most returning weapons in the SEC. Arkansas has five star wide receivers. If replacements blossom at offensive tackle, look out for this offense. It's the best defense of the Bobby Petrino era and all of the key specialists return, too. The defensive line may be the best since Arkansas joined the SEC in 1992.
