Flynn's About In

Los Angeles (CA) Harbor Community College defensive end Austin Flynn was impressed with what he saw on his official visit to Arkansas and said Monday afternoon that he was close to announcing his decision.

It looks like Arkansas might be adding a play-making defensive end in the very near future.

Los Angeles (CA) Harbor Community College standout Austin Flynn (6-5, 255, 4.55) said Monday afternoon he would likely be announcing a decision soon.

That comes after his official visit to Arkansas, which ended early Monday morning.

"It was just great and Arkansas was just beautiful," Flynn said Monday afternoon upon returning to California. "I can't say enough great things about Arkansas. I loved the campus, the stadium and weight room and being around the coaches and players. I was just so impressed."

Flynn, who had 11 sacks and 21 quarterback hurries this past season, made the visit along with his dad Mike.

"I am just going to take a day or two here and collect all my thoughts and then I think I'll probably go ahead and make my commitment," Flynn said. "I just want to run everything through my head again and talk it over with my dad."

Even if he does commit to Arkansas, Flynn will go ahead and take a planned visit to Oklahoma this next weekend.

"The reason is that I have already bought the tickets and can't get change that," Flynn said.

Flynn was very impressed with what he heard from Arkansas defensive coordinator Willie Robinson and defensive ends coach Steve Calldwell.

"Coach Robinson is a real straight shooter and really knows what he is doing," Flynn said. "I can really see him being fun to play for and somebody who could take me and really turned me into a better player.

"I really enjoyed being around him and Coach Caldwell," Flynn said. "They are great guys and Arkansas just had a great program all around."
