Big-Time Playmaker

Sierra (CA) Community College wideout Courtney Gardner (6-3, 215, 4.4) will be visiting Arkansas officially this weekend and can't wait to get to Fayetteville and get a feel from the program.

To say that Sierra (CA) Community College wide receiver Courtney Gardner (6-3, 215) is excited about his official visit to Arkansas this weekend would be a bit of an understatement.

"Man, I can't wait to get their Friday," Gardner said. "Like I told you earlier, they are my leader and I am pumped that they want me in there this weekend to see everything. I am really, really looking forward to being around the coaches and players, getting to see practice and just getting a feel on how the program is run."

Gardner, who had 61 catches for over 1,100 yards and 14 touchdowns this season and also blocked three kicks, was previously scheduled to visit Pittsburgh this weekend and then Arkansas on Dec. 16-18.

It's known that Chandler (AZ) wideout Javon Williams (6-5, 175) is also visiting officially this weekend.

"When Razorback (wide receivers) Coach (Kris) Cinkovich called today (Tuesday) and asked me to switch the weekends, I was happy to do it," Gardner said.

Florida State also recently offered and may actually get a visit next weekend per Gardner instead of Pittsburgh.

Michigan State and Auburn are also both hoping to get official visits from Gardner and he also has scholarship offers from California, Washington and Michigan State among his total of 14.

"I am very blessed, but I have also worked hard to get to this point," Gardner said.

Gardner had hoped to be a mid-term graduate, but a review of his transcript by Arkansas coaches showed he needed another couple of classes.

"I was a little disappointed at first because I was ready to get on out there, but staying another semester to get into a program like Arkansas is worth it," Gardner said. "I am just going to use the time to work out and get stronger and learn all I can while I am taking care of business in the classroom."
