Razorback Ready

Fayetteville safety Alex Brignoni talks about committing to Arkansas on Monday at the same time as teammates Austin Allen and Brooks Ellis.

Fayetteville junior safety Alex Brignoni is all smiles today – even if it was the day that finals got underway at his high school.

That's because Brignoni (6-2, 195) and a pair of Purple Bulldog teammates – quarterback Austin Allen (6-2, 217) and linebacker Brooks Ellis (6-3, 215) - all committed to Arkansas on Monday.

"It makes it so much more special to all do it together," Briginoni said. "We have all wanted to play at the same place – play at Arkansas - since about middle school and now we are going to get that chance. It's a dream come true."

Brignoni, who had a 130 tackles and a whopping 10 interceptions last season for the Class 7A state champions, got his offer on Saturday after Allen and Ellis had gotten ones back in February.

"We talked about it all weekend after I got my offer and decided to go ahead and get it over with because this is where we want to be," Brignoni said. "Now we want to go ahead and help recruiting for Arkansas."

Brignoni also had offers from Illinois, Arkansas State and Kent State before getting one from his beloved Razorbacks.

He was also getting interest from Auburn, LSU, Texas and others.

"But none of that mattered after Arkansas offered," Brignoni said. "It doesn't matter who had offered before or who offers now. I am going to be a Razorback. We all three are going to be a Razorbacks."

Fayetteville opens its season August 30th at Razorback Stadium against Memphis University.
