Bringing The Hammad

Arkansas could land its seventh pledge of the 2013 recruiting class this weekend as Irving (Texas) OL Rami Hammad (6-5, 310) plans to visit the Razorbacks and commit if an offer comes as expected.

Arkansas may soon be able to bring the Hammad.

Irving (Texas) offensive lineman Rami Hammad (6-5, 310) will take an unofficial visit to see the Razorbacks this weekend and may end his recruiting if things go as plan.

"If I get up there this weekend and Arkansas offers like I am being told they are going to do, then it will be kind of a one-stop deal," Hammad said. "I have done my research about everything and know that is a place where I want to play my college football."

Hammad is friends with current Arkansas defensive tackle Horace Arkadie.

"He has been very real with me – telling me the good and the bad about Arkansas and what it has been like for him," Hammad said. "Knowing all of that and knowing what a great program they have and are going to continue to have just makes it a great fit for me."

Hammad already has double-digit offers from schools like Oklahoma State (who offered Tuesday), Baylor, Colorado, Arizona, Arizona State, Ole Miss, Minnesota, Texas Tech, Rice, SMU, Tulsa, Baylor, New Mexico and Duke.

"I would say the schools at the top of my list right now are Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Baylor, Texas Tech and Rice," Hammad said. "But like I said earlier, Arkansas will be choice if the offer comes."

Hammad sized up his strengths.

"I think my run blocking and my work in the weight room are my biggest strengths," Hammad said. "I don't know if I have what you would call a weakness, but we can all get better at things and I think that would be pass pro for me."
