Family Tradition

Wynne star Tony Jones (6-6, 215) will add in some tight end and defensive end duties to playing wide receiver this year and hopes that all results in being able to follow in his brother's footsteps and play football at Arkansas.

One of the more physically impressive looking players at Arkansas' Elite Camp last Saturday is transitioning to a couple new positions.

Wynne standout Tony Jones (6-6, 215) has seen himself beginning to grow out of his wideout spot.

"I am going to play a little wideout, but the coach said he is going to throw in a little tight end and he is also going to throw in some defensive end this year," Jones said. "I'm looking forward to that."

Jones, the brother of former Arkansas defensive lineman Arrion Dixon, lined up at tight end during his time at the Razorback camp.

"I think it went great and we got a lot of work done with the coaches, lot of good individual work," Jones said. "We just worked and got better."

Jones has one offer, but hopes for many more.

"I have got an offer from UAPB," Jones said, "and Ouachita Baptist seems really interested in me. I went to Vanderbilt for 7-on-7 and they seemed like they were real interested in me."

He had 25 catches and three touchdowns last season and obviously would love to add an Arkansas offer.

"Oh, yes, I want to carry on the family tradition," Jones said. "It would be a dream come true."

Jones' dad also played college football and joins Dixon in being the key influences behind Jones.

"They are all my influence," Jones said. "They just keep on pushing me hard each day."
