Monday Morning Grid Update, 8/13

Arkansas took another step in getting its depth squared away at linebacker. Tenarius Wright and Alonzo Highsmith dressed in full pads.

Starting linebackers Alonzo Highsmith and Tenarius Wright, a pair of captains, were dressed in full pads, but still not taking part in much as the Arkansas football team returned to the field Monday morning after a day off.

The Hogs scrimmaged Saturday morning, then added a second practice in the afternoon for the first of two-a-days. They will practice twice Monday.

There were just a few depth chart changes and one addition to the injury list. Starting defensive tackle Byran Jones did not participate outside of individual drills after sustaining a hand injury Saturday. He appeared to have a brace or light cast on his right hand.

Highsmith has been rehabbing a hamstring pull the last eight days. He did step into the walk-through portion of the morning workout, finally in full pads. But he didn't work in the group or team segments.

Wright also was available for more work Monday morning after missing the last week with a concussion. He did not take part in the team or group.

Terrell Williams and Otha Peters continue to get the work with the first team in all group and team situations. A.J. Peters and Kiero Small worked with the second team, with Braylon Mitchell taking Small's snaps when he worked at fullback.

There were no interviews after Monday's morning. They will come after the evening practice, scheduled for 4 to 6 p.m. That practice will be in Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

As far as depth moves, Alfred Davis and Dede Jones took the reps at defensive tackle with the ones. Robert Thomas and DeMarcus Hodge were with the twos.

At offensive tackle, Jason Peacock switched to the strong side and split time with Brey Cook at strongside. He had been working behind David Hurd on the weakside. Cook and Peacock both got first team reps. Peacock also appeared to take some reps on the weakside behind Hurd.

Matt Marshall, who injured an ankle last week, was dressed in full pads, but still seems slowed. Jarrett Lake worked with the ones in the base package with Daunte Carr behind him. Ross Rasner took over that spot in the nickel look.

Eric Bennett continues to sit out with a leg injury. He tried to go early in camp, but has been bothered by an injury that was sustained in summer workouts.
