Arkansas Lands Juco Punter

Per a release from Prokick Australia Kicking Academy, Arkansas has landed a pledge from City College of San Francisco punter Sam Irwin Hill (6-3, 210), who averaged 46.1 yards per punt this season and chose the Razorbacks over Miami and others.

According to a press release from Prokick Australia Kicking Academy, Arkansas is adding a seventh junior college player.

City College of San Francisco punter Sam Irwin Hill (6-3, 210), a native of Bendigo, Victoria - which is about two hours from Melbourne, Australia - has committed to the Razorbacks and will be visiting in late January.

He averaged a whopping 46.1 yards per punt this season to lead the California Community College Athletic Association and chose Arkansas over Miami, Louisiana Tech and five other offers..

Irwin Hill said that he was recruited by Terrance J. Butler – listed as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Razorbacks - to join a program that has just added head coach Bret Bielema and defensive line coach Charlie Partridge, who will also coach special teams.

"TJ was amazing throughout the whole process and made me feel very comfortable even when there was uncertainty in the Head Coaching position," Irwin Hill said in the press release. "With Coach Bielema now on board and special teams Coach Partridge coming as well, I just knew this was the place I needed to be. I just can't wait to visit Arkansas in late January."

Irwin Hill, who had a long punt of 77 yards and put 15 of his 46 boots inside the 20-yard line, will replace senior Dylan Breeding and likely compete with kicker Zach Hocker for the punting job.

He will be the seventh junior college player that the Razorbacks have signed or had committed since Bielema took over at Arkansas.

The five mid-term signees are Butler County (KA) Community College offensive lineman John McClure (6-4, 310), linebackers Martrell Spaight (6-0, 220) of Coffeyville (KA) CC and Myke Tavarrres (6-2, 223) of Weed (CA) College of the Siskiyous, Georgia Military College safety Tiquention Coleman (5-11, 190) and Hartnell (CA) CC cornerback Carroll Washington (6-1, 190).

Coffeyville quarterback AJ Derby (6-5, 232) is walking on next semester in hopes of earning a scholarship next fall.
