Evans On Board

Houston (Texas) Bellaire running back Denzell Evans (6-1, 205) pledged to sign with Arkansas on Sunday and now hopes he is joined by teammate Dwayne Evans as future Razorbacks.

Houston (Texas) Bellaire running back Denzell Evans is now a Razorback and hopes he'll have a teammate that is soon one, too.

Evans (6-1, 205) committed to Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema on Sunday morning at the conclusion of his visit and now hopes that convinces Bellaire offensive lineman Dwayne Johnson (6-6, 275) to follow suit and pick the Razorbacks over Nebraska.

"I think the chances have just increased," Evans said. "I told him and he said that is really something to think about now."

Evans, who rushed for over 2,000 yards in his career at Bellaire, noted that he actually got an offer coming into the visit but kept that private until after he committed.

"I really enjoyed the visit and seeing the great facilities was wonderful," Evans said. "I loved it. The environment was great. Going to the Catfish Hole was an experience in itself. I really enjoyed myself."

He flipped from Houston, where he had been committed.

"It's the SEC, a great division to be in with great coaches and the environment overall," Evans said. "It's just great and I want to be a part of it."

He was hosted on his visit by Arkansas redshirt freshman Jamichael Winston.

"It went well," Evans said. "He is a real good dude. That is a big old dude there. Big dude."
