Arkansas officially announced the addition of West Virginia transfer Keaton Miles to its basketball program on Friday.
Miles (6-7, 210), who announced his decision on Monday, will start classes next week in Fayetteville and redshirt next season before joining the active roster in 2014-2015.
"Keaton is an articulate young man with great character who comes from a basketball family," Anderson said. "He is a slashing skill forward who takes pride in his defense and will really benefit from The Fastest 40 Minutes in Basketball.
"He has a great motor, good basketball IQ and is very athletic.," Anderson added. "Sitting out will help him adjust to our systems both on and off the floor. We welcome Keaton to the Razorback family."
Miles was a prep standout at Dallas Lincoln, where he averaged 18 points and 13 rebounds as a senior and was the Texas MVP of the Faith 7 Bowl, an all-star game between the top talent in the Lone Star State and Oklahoma.
He averaged 13.5 points and 12 rebounds as a junior at Lincoln.
Miles signed with West Virginia over offers Florida, Marquette, Baylor, Arkansas and others.
While he started 30 of 32 games as a true freshman for the Mountaineers, he averaged just 1.9 points and 1.2 rebounds - 30 of which were on the offensive end.
He averaged 2.6 points and 1.7 rebounds as a sophomore despite his minutes dropping to 11 per game.
Miles joins McDonald's All American forward Bobby Portis (6-10, 230), Huntington (W.V.) Prep center and fellow Top 40 national pick Moses Kingsley (6-10, 230) and Fayetteville walk on Manuale Watkins (6-3, 180) as newcomers on this year's squad.
"I'm just really excited to be a part of this program and I want to be a leader to the guys in the program and the ones that we are going to add," Miles said. "It's just a great situation for me on and off the court."
