Decision Due On Friday

Ohio prep basketball star Jalen Hudson - a native of Virginia - says that he will make his college decision known on Friday afternoon with Arkansas and Virginia Tech his two finalists.

Arkansas should know on Friday afternoon if it will officially start practice with a trio of 2014 commitments or a quartet.

That's because Ohio prep combo guard Jalen Hudson (6-5, 180) has let it be known on his Instagram account that he plans to announce his college choice on Friday afternoon.

Hudson - who plays at LeBron James' old high school St. Vincent-St. Mary' in Akron - has over 25 offers, but has narrowed his decision down to just two schools.

"After talking with my parents and doing a lot of thinking, I have narrowed my college decision down to Arkansas and Virginia Tech," Hudson writes. "I am going to take this week to think about both schools.

"I am going to be thinking about which I like most and which school will give me the best opportunity to reach my goals," Hudson continues, "and be happy and successfull! I will be making my decision this Friday after school."

Hudson averaged 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists as a junior for a team that lost in the Division II state title game.

Hudson took an official visit to Arkansas on August 30-Spet. 1 and took an official trek to Virginia Tech on Sept. 20-22.

After his visit to Fayetteville, he said this about where he might fit in the Arkansas program.

"I really like Arkansas," Hudson said. I like the coaches. I think it is a real nice program and I would fit pretty well here."

The Razorbacks' three pledges in the 2014 class are North Little Rock point guard Anton Beard (6-1, 180), Forrest City big man Trey Thompson (6-9, 250) and Arlington (Texas) Martin small forward Nick Babb (6-5, 180).
