It didn't take Springdale Har-Ber defensive end Jake Hall long to think over his future.
Hall (6-5, 236), offered a scholarship by Arkansas on Wednesday night, committed to the Razorbacks on Sunday night.
He is excited about the opportunity to work with Arkansas defensive line coach Charlie Partridge and strength and conditioning coach Ben Herbert.
"It's the perfect situation for me," Hall said. "There's no one better to work with than Coach Partridge and Coach Herb. It's my dream school and I'm very excited."
He becomes the first defensive end commit in the 2014 recruiting class and the 18th overall pledge in that class.
"I got the offer on Wednesday and just wanted to concentrate on our game with Rogers," Hall said. "Once that was over, I sit down with my parents to make sure we were on the same page and they were."
So he made calls to Partridge, head coach Bret Bielema and chief in-state recruiter Barry Lunney.
"So I called Coach Partridge and let him know and then I called Coach Lunney and Coach B and they were both very excited," Hall said.
"Coach B told me that I was the type of player on the field and off that he wants to build the program with," Hall added. "That was exciting to hear."
Hall's offers were from Arkansas, Cincinnati and Louisina-Monroe and he was also receiving interest from Oklahoma State and others.
"I think most coaches like how I hustle throughout the play and never take a play off," Hall said on Thursday. "I just try to play as hard as I can on every play."
He has 50 tackles so far this season heading into this Friday's game with Fayetteville.
The Wildcats are 5-3 overall and in a three-way tie for third in conference action while Fayetteville is unbeaten this season.
"The Fayetteville game is all that is on our minds right now," Hall said. "It's one game at a time."
