Razorback Staff Hits Road

Fresh off a 3-9 rookie season at Arkansas, Razorback head coach Bret Bielema and his staff are now on the road for 14 straight days - and also hosting two groups of December official visitors - to try and make sure nothing like this campaign happens again.

The season may be over at the earliest date ever for Bret Bielema as a head coach, but the former Wisconsin and current Arkansas program head is making it clear that this 3-9 season won't pass muster and he and his staff plan to do something about it.

The Razorback staff is hitting the recruiting trail hard over the next 14 days and Bielema sent out a pair of tweets regarding that on Sunday morning.

"Taking off for first live week of recruiting and couldn't be more excited about where we are headed as a program. Building solid foundation!," Bielema tweeted.

He followed that up with this:

"This week we will always start in Arkansas then I will visit 8 states and two countries all before being back on campus Friday morning. #WPS"

Bielema will be in Arkansas, Missouri, Texas, Florida, Wisconsin, and Georgia as well as two other states they are trying to keep under wraps.

Bielema will also be in Canada recruiting during this week.

It's known that he visited both Bolivar, Mo., quarterback Rafe Peavey and Dallas, Texas, Bishop Dunne offensive lineman Jovan Pruitt - two of Arkansas' 17 commits for 2004 - on Sunday.

Arkansas defensive coordinator Chris Ash was certainly up and going early.

"A nonstop week of recruiting began with a 6am flight. Looking forward to visiting guys and their families," tweeted Ash.

Two offensive linemen that Razorback offensive line coach Sam Pittman will visit are Brian Wallace of St. Louis, Mo., Christian Brothers on Monday and Tucson, AZ., Sabino star Andrew Mike.

The Razorbacks will be in to see Olathe, Kan., North linebacker Jimmie Swain on Thursday.

Arkansas can be on the road recruiting until Dec. 15 with a dead period opening Dec. 16-Jan. 15.

He'll be back Friday because the Razorbacks will be hosting their first of two December official visit weekends – Dec. 6-8 and Dec. 13-15.
