Rogers LB Lands Razorback Offer

After a productive senior season in which he had over 100 tackles, Rogers linebacker Zack Wary (6-4, 220) suddenly has an offer from Arkansas and Auburn and Oklahoma State headed to his home to visit.

Rogers linebacker Zack Wary is a prime example of how good things come to those who wait while at the same time being very productive.

Wary (6-4, 220, 4.45) was offered by Arkansas assistant Barry Lunney, Jr., during a home visit on Sunday night and he has Oklahoma State and Auburn both scheduled to come in for home visits next week.

He had previous offers from Arkansas State, Memphis, Tulsa, Missouri State, Air Force and some Ivy League schools – because of his 4.0 grade point average and 33 ACT score – and now has bigger schools knocking on his door.

"He did get an offer from Arkansas on Sunday night when Coach Lunney came to visit and he is very excited about it," noted John Wary, Zach's dad. "He's had several offers before this, but now other schools are coming to see him and getting him on the phone to talk."

Wary – who had over 100 tackles this season - is set to take his official visit to Arkansas on Dec. 13-15 after learning of Razorback head coach Bret Bielema's increased interest two weeks ago when he met with him.

He is only the sixth in-state offer extended by the Razorbacks in the 2014 class.

"He met with Coach Bielema a couple of weeks ago and they had told him after he was at Arkansas' camp that they were going to be watching him close this season," Mr. Wary said.

Wary, who ran a 4.45 40-yard dash at the aforementioned June 19th camp, had 18 tackles in a win over Springdale Har-Ber earlier this season.

"It is an exciting time for him and he is just going to see how things work out," Mr. Wary said. "He is scheduled to take his official visit to Arkansas on the weekend of Dec. 14."

He is also currently scheduled to take official visits to Arkansas State Jan. 17-19 and Air Force on Jan. 24-26.
