Arkansas Looking to Add Mid-Term Help

Arkansas knows it will add at least three mid-term graduates players in January and is waiting to hear the decisions of a few others as the national junior college mid-term signing period opens on Wednesday.

Arkansas is hoping that the opening of nearly month-long mid-term junior college signing period brings them much-needed good news.

The Razorbacks know they will sign Arizona Western College wide receiver Cody Hollister (6-4, 205) as the Dec. 18-Jan. 15 period opens.

Arkansas also hopes to land Arizona Western tight end Blake Whiteley (6-5, 240) and Iowa Western offensive linemen Sebastian Tretola (6-5, 315) – who is set to announce his decision Wednesday.

All three took visits to Arkansas last Thursday through Sunday will have three years to play at their next destinations.

"I think that is what is different for all of us is we are not just coming in with two years to play," Hollister said. "It's going to be great to get in and be able to go through conditioning and spring practice."

Tretola – who attended Nevada along with Hollister as a true freshman - has narrowed his choice to Arkansas, Oklahoma and TCU.

Whiteley is deciding between Arkansas, Texas, Purdue and Virginia.

The Razorbacks are also adding a pair of high school stars at mid-term in quarterback Rafe Peavey (6-2, 212) of Bolivar, Mo., and cornerback Chris Murphy (5-10, 180) of Marietta, Ga., Lassiter.

Both signed financial letters of agreement with Arkansas last month.

Another high school player who will graduate at mid-term and is still considering Arkansas is C.J. Hampton of Meridian, Miss., who has a final four of Alabama, Ole Miss, Arkansas and LSU.
