Floyd's Pledge Keeps Razorbacks Rolling

Miami, Fla., Gulliver cornerback Cornelius Floyd (6-0, 170, 4.4) chooses over Arkansas over Oklahoma, Auburn and several other offers and becomes the Razorbacks' third commit from Florida in the past two days and the fourth overall since Saturday.

Arkansas continued its momentum over the past few days as Miami, Fla., Gulliver cornerback Cornelius Floyd (6-2, 180) pledged to sign with the Razorbacks.

Floyd, who chose Arkansas over Oklahoma, Auburn, the University of Central Florida and others, made his commitment during a home visit with Razorback head coach Bret Bielema.

He is a prospect that recruited for Arkansas by assistants Randy Shannon and Taver Johnson and talked about them after his visit to Fayetteville on Jan. 17-19.

"They are some good guys and they have been around the game a long time," Floyd said. "I think they can teach me a lot to improve my game.

"I like the coaching, the area and the weather is not bad," Floyd added. "Fayetteville is pretty nice and a good place to be."

Floyd, a first-team All_State selection and 3-star prospect per Scout.com, had 41 tackles, seven interceptions and 12 pass break ups this season for Gulliver while also catching 5 passes for 133 yards and two scores.

Those 7 interceptions were the second-most in talent-rich Dade County.

Floyd had one game this season in which he had three interceptions, returned a fumble for a score and also caused a fumble in a 17-10 win over Monsignor Pace in November that clinched a state playoff berth. In addition to Arkansas, Auburn, Oklahoma and UCF,, Floyd also had offers from West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Northern Illinois, Tulane and Western Kentucky.
