Sophomore Brennan O'Donohoe, freshman David Carlton and senior Thomas LaToof each hit 30-yard field goals to earn the entire squad relief from post-practice running.
"We put in on our kickers today," Houston Nutt said. "They did a good job, because we put it on them whether the team would run any gassers today. They took it off of them to get ready for Saturday night's scrimmage. We definitely hit a little bit of a wall today."
The Hogs will take part in Fan Day on Saturday afternoon before staging the first major scrimmage of the fall at 6 p.m. at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. With the season opener less than two weeks away, Nutt and his staff are looking to answer some questions on both sides of the ball.
"We are anxious to get them out there and let them play," Nutt said. "We will try to get everybody 35 plays. We will really grade hard and see what happens. On defense, we are looking for the guy that is going to consistently run to the football and get the other guy on the ground. We have some questions at defensive back. There are some outside linebacker questions. We are going to look real hard at the rotation of guys up front like Elliott Harris, Arrion Dixon and Jayson Johnson.
"Offensively we will look at the quarterbacks handle the pressure. We will look at the backs behind the Cobbs and the Holmes and guys like that."
Defensive lineman Pat Winn missed most of Friday's workout with severe patella tendinitis in the right knee. Defensive end Raymond House suffered a mild sprained ankle, but is expected to take part in Saturday's scrimmage.
The annual "Meet the Razorbacks Day" is slated for Saturday afternoon. The fan day will run from 2:30-4:30 p.m. in the grove adjacent to the Tyson Poultry Science Center. UA players and coaches will be available for pictures and autographs.
A scrimmage will be held at 6 p.m. at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. Fans attending the scrimmage must enter the stadium through the center gate of the east side stands along Stadium Drive. Seating will be available only in the lower deck of the east side. Due to ongoing construction, the rest of the stadium will be off limits.
