Brown Enjoying Busy Spring

North Little Rock running back D.J. Brown, one of the state's best junior prospects and someone Arkansas is showing interest in, is busy checking out his options.

It has been a busy spring semester for D.J. Brown.

Only a couple weeks after visiting Illinois, the three-star running back transferred from Little Rock Catholic High School to North Little Rock High School.

While the move required him to change schools in the middle of the semester, Brown said he knew it was "all for the better" and that he was adjusting well.

"There's not much of a difference," Brown said. "It's a bigger school so I had to figure out where all of my classes were, but I knew most of the kids already."

He does, however, admit that the workouts at his new school are longer and tougher.

Arkansas has shown interest in Brown, but has not offered a scholarship at this point so he is checking out other options.

When Brown visited the Fighting Illini, he was impressed by the coaching staff and the new uniforms, which will debut during their spring game. He said he also enjoyed the Big Ten atmosphere.

"They had big weight rooms and pretty girls walking me around and showing me everywhere," Brown said.

Brown will visit Northern Illinois Saturday. He has offers from Arkansas State, Illinois, Memphis and Southern Miss.

This summer, Brown said he plans on attending five camps. Although he has not decided which five to attend, he said one of them would likely be an Arkansas camp.

On top of the camps, Brown said he hopes to continue getting stronger and faster leading up to his senior season. One of his main areas of focus is his flexibility.

"That's a big thing," Brown said. "You can tell when I run that I could be faster if I was more flexible."
