Cantrell's All Red And White

Roland, Okla., tight end and Arkansas 2015 commit Austin Cantrell (6-3, 249), one of 50 or so prospects due in for Saturday's Red-White game, got an offer from Oklahoma this week, but stresses he is all Razorback.

While Roland, Okla., tight end Austin Cantrell appreciates Oklahoma's offer to him this week, it doesn't change his plans to be a Razorback.

Cantrell (6-4, 249), who will be on hand for Saturday's 1 p.m. Red-White game at Reynolds Razorback Stadium, said his college destination will be Fayetteville – which is closer than Norman is anyway.

"It was nice to get the offer, but it doesn't change anything," Cantrell said. "I am going to come to Arkansas, unless some thing strange happens like (Razorback head) Coach B(ielema) leaves and I don't see that happening. It's just the right fit got me."

Cantrell, one of seven Arkansas commits already in a top 10 nationally ranked 2015 class, will be taking in his fourth Arkansas practice of the spring Saturday when he comes for the Red-White game along with around 50 other 2014 signees and junior prospects.

He got an offer from the Razorbacks after his first trip to Fayetteville, committed after his second trek on March 20 and felt really comfortable when he saw his third workout recently.

"I just really like all the coaches, the players and the whole atmosphere at Arkansas," Cantrell said. "Like I said, I just fill like it is a perfect fit for me."

Cantrell caught 9 passes for 268 yards last season and also rushed 41 times for 374 yards while also being a force at defensive end with over 100 tackles.

"Right after the Oklahoma offer a coach from Oklahoma State called and they are coming over," Cantrell said. "But tell Razorback fans there's nothing to worry about. I'm solid to Arkansas."

He is ranked as the seventh-best junior player in Oklahoma by Scout.com and has a fan in analyst Greg Powers.

"Cantrell is one of my favorite prospects in the Sooner State crop for 2015," Powers said. "He plays both ways and could probably end up playing either side of the ball in college. A spirited player who quite simply gets the job done. He is very strong and that shows through on tape on both sides."
