Things are starting to work themselves out on the recruiting trail. It's time to start looking more intently on Oklahoma's "wish list" for the Class of 2015.
Here is an idea of where OU stands in late June. The number in parentheses indicates the number of recruits OU is looking to sign at the position for the Class of 2015. The names in no way reflect OU's official board but are the best guesstimate of who OU is targeting.
With it only being the summer, all of these are with offered prospects. Later in the cycle we'll return to guessing who might deserve an offer down the road.
Committed (1): Lancaster (Texas) High's Dominique Hearne. It's not a commitment that blew people away, but it was a big one for a big position of need. With the way OU's 2014 class is shaping up with some linemen not being able to make it, any addition is huge. Hearne is a quality three-star prospect that feels like he can be molded into something by Bill Bedenbaugh. His first trip to Norman confirmed that for Hearne, who later committed that week.
Favorite: Lawton (Okla.) High's Jalin Barnett. The No. 1-ranked prospect in the state for a reason, Barnett continues to be among OU's top overall targets. For no reason at all, he was back at OU this month for the camp as he continues to grow his deep relationship with Bill Bedenbaugh. Oklahoma State and Arkansas will be in the mix, but it's tough to see the Sooners not finding a way to pull this one out as of now.
Next in line: None. The ship has sailed for Oklahoma City Casady's Josh Wariboko. But it's possible somebody like Mesquite (Texas) Horn's Conner Dyer is seen more as a guard than tackle at this point. No time to panic as of this month.
