Busy summer for Gallaspy

The summer has been a busy time for Reggie Gallaspy. The 2015 Greensboro (N.C.) Southern Guilford running back gave Scout.com the latest.

Reggie Gallaspy is up to 17 scholarship offers with the latest coming from the SEC.

"Arkansas was my most recent offer," said the 5-foot-11, 215-pound Gallaspy. "It's a big deal to me. It's my second SEC offer – Vanderbilt was first. It's big accomplishment to know that I can play in that conference and I feel like I could help turn that program around."

Previously, Gallaspy named a top five – in order – of Duke, NC State and North Carolina, West Viriginia and Virginia. However, that's no longer the case.

"Since a lot of schools have started to offer, I don't really have a top five anymore," he said. "I'm going to take some visits this month. Then I'll probably have a top five in July."

His most recent visits were to West Virginia and Michigan State.

"I loved the campus an environment at West Virginia," Gallaspy said. "They have great coaches, too. My favorite part of the trip was spending time with coach (Jajuan) Seider."

"I also liked the campus and environment at Michigan State. They also have great coaches. I had a great time being back at the first school I ever visited for football."

Upcoming trips include Vanderbilt, Illinois and Louisville.

In regards to official visits, Gallaspy said California will get one. He said Michigan State and Illinois will likely get officials as well.

He has a tentative timeline for his recruitment.

"If everything goes as planned, I'm probably going to narrow my list to five schools at the end of August," Gallaspy said. "And I'd like to commit sometime between September and November."
