After a strong camp performance, Charles West, a 5-foot-9, 180-pound running back from Coppell (Texas) High added a huge offer to his list from Arkansas last week.
"I mean it is just the SEC period, playing in the best conference<" west said when asked about what stood out initially about the new offer.
"I went out to Arkansas, went up to their camp on Monday and did my thing and came home with an offer, so that is just a good deal."
"The coaches were a real good family," West continued. "Everyone was close. The facilities were great. It was just overwhelming."
Ohio State and USC are two other power programs which have been contacting him and watching his progress closely.
"I still have contact with those two schools (USC and Ohio State)," West reported. "I just want to try and take visits to every school that offered me so I can see what every school has to offer."
Holding offers from schools like West is also looking to do a west coast trip and try to see the aformentioned USC as well as UCLA and Stanford, in hopes of having a similar performance to the one he had at Arkansas.
"All the West Coast schools," West said of his summer trip and camp plans. "UCLA, USC, Stanford. Just playing in California would be fun. The nice weather and the atmosphere."
West cited early playing time as a key factor in his decision making process.
"I am bringing in a good student athlete. Both in the school and on the field. I am bringing speed and am just a good all-around back."
As a junior, West led Coppell in scoring, rushing for 1,177 yards and hauling in 262 receiving yards scoring 16 touchdowns to earn 5-5A First Team All-District honors.
