Reed High On Arkansas

Junior college standout receiver Dominique Reed has favored Arkansas since they sent him an offer a couple months ago.

Coffeyville C.C. wide receiver Dominique Reed was once again a standout in last night's scrimmage against Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. He hauled in a brilliant touchdown grab in the corner of end zone that put his ball skills and body control on full display.

Reed has a lot of length, athleticism, and speed to go with his 6-foot-3 and 175 pound frame, but wants to keep adding a bit more weight.

"I"m around 170 or 175 pounds now, but I'd like to be at 180 or 185 pound by the time I leave Coffeyville," he said. "Colleges would like to see me add a bit more bulk. I run a 4.3 forty yard dash right now so that's the best part of my game."

Reed received a significant offer a couple months ago, and that program has continued to soar out front for his services.

"Arkansas has been at the top ever since they offered," he told Scout. "They're jumping ahead quite a bit now. It gives me the chance to go back home since I am from Camden. It's a pretty good program, too."

The Razorbacks offense has been a point of emphasis for Reed.

"I haven't seen them play this season but I think they can throw the ball well," he noted. "They'll have a better running game under Coach Bielema, but I think they can get it done through the air as well, and I could put them over the top. Being in the SEC would be a great opportunity for me."

The Razorbacks staff has made it clear what the priorities are as of now.

"They just have told me to go to class and do my work," Reed pointed out. "The concentration right now is to make sure I qualify. I feel like I will without any problems or issues. I'll probably graduate in May, and not December."

Reed plans on taking an official visit to Arkansas but hasn't pinned down a date for it as of now.
