The aftershock of Randy Shannon's reported departure is already being felt.
Jeremiah Dinson, a two-star cornerback out of Hialeah (Fla.) American Senior High School, was originally going to visit Arkansas in January, but now his plans are in limbo after hearing about Shannon leaving for Florida.
"I was supposed to visit January 16th, but now I don't know," Dinson said. "Shannon was the main reason I was considering Arkansas. I'm not sure now."
He is verbally committed to Kentucky, but Dinson has 14 other offers, including Arkansas, Duke, Louisville, North Carolina State and Syracuse.
The Razorbacks were hoping to get Dinson to flip from the Wildcats to Arkansas because of his relationship with Shannon, Arkansas' linebackers coach that is reportedly heading to Florida to become the Gators' linebackers coach and recruiting coordinator (no official announcement has been made).
"It was like a father-son relationship," Dinson said. "I've been talking to Shannon since my 10th grade year. Our relationship grew stronger through the years.
"It shocked me when he was headed to Florida."
Despite his uncertainty with Arkansas, he was still impressed by the Razorbacks' dominant 31-7 win over Texas in the Texas Bowl.
"It was a good game," Dinson said. "I really love the defense. That was crazy. I didn't expect that. The defense really swarmed to the ball."
With 2014 coming to an end, he said his New Year's resolution is picking the best school on signing day.
