Monk was not the only Bentonville junior making news on Saturday as Tigers junior quarterback/pitcher Kasey Ford (6-5, 240) committed to play baseball at Kansas State.
He had baseball offers from Kansas State and Wichita State and a lone football offer from Louisville.
Arkansas had shown interest in Ford in both sports, but had not offered.
