Trend Meter For Arkansas Recruits, 1/27

Hawgs Illustrated takes a look at which Arkansas recruits are trending up, which are trending down and who is still hoping to have a chance to be a Razorback.

With just over a week left before national signing day on Feb. 4, Hawgs Illustrated’s Dudley E. Dawson takes a look at some of the top uncommitted prospects left on Arkansas’ recruiting board.

The Razorbacks have 21 commits and are ranked 21st nationally in the team rankings per Scout.com.

Toby Weathersby, OL, Houston, Texas, Westfield

It appears that it is a two-team race between Arkansas and LSU, the two schools he has visited the past two weekends.

1/27: Arkansas offensive line coach Sam Pittman has been clear how much he wants Weathersby and has been in the big man's ear as much as possible lately and has been to see him this week. Pittman - arguably the staff's best recruiter - has not lost one he wanted in awhile. Also LSU offered a new offensive lineman on Tuesday.

A call to Haynesville High School on Tuesday found a great deal of excitement about Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema arriving to see Jackson on Wednesday.

1/27: Jackson had told Hawgs Illustrated last spring that he wanted to commit to Arkansas, but Bielema has a rule of the prospect visiting the campus before making pledge. He later committed to Arizona on June 9th. He will be making his first visit to Arkansas this weekend. Jackson had 118 tackles and also was the quarterback for the Toros as well as they won their third straight state championship.

Brandon Scott, S, Destrehan, La.
Scott is one of eight Destrehan players expected to sign D-I scholarships next Wednesday.

1/27: Scott has visited Texas Tech and Central Florida, but Arkansas gets the last shot and feels good about its chances with the hard-hitting free safety.

Johnson is hoping to visit Arkansas this weekend and is waiting by the phone hoping for that opportunity.

1/27: Dallas Skyline assistant coach Eric Mimms said Tuesday that Johnson is waiting on the outside looking in right now at both Arkansas and Texas Tech, but is hopeful that he still gets an opportunity to visit one of those places. His only officlal visit so far was to Kansas State in November.

K.J. Hill, WR, North Little Rock

Hill was a former Arkansas commit that has taken visits to Alabama and Ohio State in the past two weeks and is scheduled to have home visits with all three schools this week.

1/27: If Hill visits Arkansas this weekend as previously scheduled, then maybe there is a shot he still becomes a Razorback. If he doesn’t, well that ship will have sailed.

James King, LB, Miami, Fla., Booker T. Washington

King visited Arkansas this weekend and is ready to commit to the Razorbacks if a spot opens.
