The Broken Arrow (Okla.) offensive lineman made the two-hour trip to Fayetteville with the goals of turning heads for his performance on the field and picking up an offer, as well.
“I love being here,” Frederick said. “I love the facilities they have. It’s a great place to be, so I’m excited.”
Coming into the camp, Frederick (6-5, 335) had six offers, including one from a power-five school: Texas Tech. His other offers are from Arkansas State, Houston, North Texas, Tulsa and FCS Sam Houston State.
While he was excited to get to practice in the Razorbacks’ facilities, he was even more excited to work with their coaching staff, particularly offensive line coach Sam Pittman and head coach Bret Bielema.
“Coach Pittman, being the great coach that he is, and Bret Bielema, (it’s) just a great coaching staff to be around, especially if you’re an offensive lineman,” Frederick said.
The Arkansas camp was a couple weeks removed from Broken Arrow’s spring practice, which Frederick said he enjoyed.
“It was great,” Frederick said. “It had been a long time, so it felt good to get back in pads for sure.”
The Razorbacks likely won’t be the only team to get a look at Frederick this summer.
He said nothing is set in stone, but he hopes to go to camps at Kansas State and Texas A&M, as well.
However, his biggest focus is on improving his individual game.
“I’m just trying to become more technically sound, with footsteps and have great feet,” Frederick said. “I’m already powerful, (I’m working on) making myself the overall best player I can be.”
