Houston, Texas, Westfield four-star wideout Tyrie Cleveland (6-2, 189, 4.32), fresh off a solid performance at The Opening, will take an unofficial visit to check out the Razorbacks.
Arkansas, whose chief recruiter is Razorback assistant Clay Jennings, is one of 10 schools that Cleveland has narrowed his list down to so far.
“I want to check them out because they are an up-and-coming program, they are in the SEC and because of Coach Jennings,” Cleveland said Monday night. “He is a great guy and talks to me about more than just football.
“So I want to get there and see what it is all about and see if it is as cool as he says it is.”
Cleveland, who de-committed from Texas A&M in April, had a breakout junior season with 53 catches for 1,105 yards and 13 touchdowns.
He patterns his game after Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant.
“I am still trying to work on my craft every day, just getting bigger, stronger and faster,” Cleveland said. “I am working hard.”
He recently cut his list down to 10 schools with Arkansas, Texas A&M, Florida, Alabama, TCU, Ole Miss, Georgia, Oklahoma and Houston.
“I just wanted to open it back up and make sure I was doing the right thing,” Cleveland said. “I wanted to get to see a lot of these other schools and just make the best decision for myself.
“I will probably get it down to about five in two or three weeks, take my official visits and then make my announcement at the Under Armour All-Star Game (in January).”
Cleveland was one of 160 or so players invited to The Opening, Nike’s prestigious event held in Beaverton, Oregon.

He ripped off a 4.32 40-yard dash and a 3.94 pro-shuttle at the camp and also led his 7-on-7 team Lunarbeast to the camp title.
“It was a great camp and a great experience to go up against some of the top competition in the nation,” Cleveland said. “I also got a great chance to be around some NFL players and coaches.
“There were NFL players like Victor Cruz, Richard Sherman and De’Anthony Thomas. It was great to be around those guys who are playing in the league.”
He was able to attend the camp along with his quarterback Dillon Sterling Cole, another four-star prospect.

Cole has his list down to five - Arizona State, Florida, Texas A&M, Mississippi State and Houston.
“I think we are going to have a great season this year,” Cleveland said. “We just have to come out work hard and play hard as a team.”
