Texas A&M 28, Arkansas 21

For the second straight season, Arkansas blows a lead and Texas A&M escapes with a 28-21 victory Saturday night before 67,339 yards in the Southwest Classic at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

ARLINGTON, Texas -- In a near repeat of last season's finish, Arkansas blew a fourth quarter lead and lost to Texas A&M on Saturday in overtime.

The No. 14 Aggies tied the game with less than three minutes remaining in regulation and held the Razorbacks out of the end zone in overtime for a 28-21 comeback win.

Arkansas has lost 10 consecutive games decided by 10 points or less. The Razorbacks are 1-3 overall after losing their fifth consecutive conference opener.

Kyle Allen's 20-yard touchdown pass to Christian Kirk on the second play of overtime gave Texas A&M the lead for good.

Arkansas failed to pick up a first down in overtime. Brandon Allen's fourth down pass to Drew Morgan was broken up by De'Vante Harris to end the game.

The Aggies tied the game on a touchdown and two-point conversion with 2:50 remaining in the fourth quarter. Tra Carson scored the touchdown on a 2-yard run and Kyle Allen threw the conversion pass to Josh Reynolds to tie the game 21-21.

Allen and Reynolds connected on a 63-yard pass to the Arkansas 7 earlier in the drive.

After recovering a fumble inside Arkansas territory with 1:04 remaining, Texas A&M had a chance to win the game in regulation, but Taylor Bertolet missed a 38-yard field goal wide right as time expired.

The Razorbacks led 21-13 after Rawleigh Williams' 3-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter. Arkansas blew a fourth quarter lead for the eighth time in three seasons.

Texas A&M led 10-7 at halftime. The Aggies tied the game on a 44-yard touchdown pass from Kyle Allen to Kirk on the first play of the second quarter and took the lead on a 23-yard field goal by Bertolet later in the quarter.

Bertolet added a 22-yard field goal in the third quarter to extend the Aggies' lead to 13-7. Texas A&M twice settled for a field goal after advancing inside the red zone.

Arkansas took the lead 14-13 on Alex Collins' 4-yard touchdown run with 4:17 remaining in the third quarter. Both Collins' score and Williams' fourth quarter touchdown were set up by long receptions from Drew Morgan.

Morgan had a career-high eight receptions for 155 yards for the Razorbacks. Morgan had a 17-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter to give Arkansas a 7-0 lead.

Kirk had eight catches for 173 yards and two touchdowns for the Aggies (4-0, 1-0 SEC).

Kyle Allen completed 21 of 28 passes for 358 yards.

Brandon Allen completed 20 of 25 passes for 225 yards for the Razorbacks. Allen threw a touchdown and an interception, and he lost a fumble in the fourth quarter.

Arkansas committed 11 penalties for 93 yards and had another penalty declined.

The Razorbacks lost despite out-gaining the opposition on offense for the second time in three weeks.

Arkansas is scheduled to play at Tennessee next Saturday.
