Media Tabs Arkansas 11th In SEC Preseason Poll

Defending SEC champion Kentucky was tabbed to repeat and 2014-2015 runner-up Arkansas was picked 11th in the SEC in the 2015-2016 preseason poll released Wednesday at SEC Basketball Media Day.

It should come as no surprise that defending champion Kentucky was picked to win the league again in 2015-2016 by the SEC Media.

It was also not surprising that Arkansas – last year’s runner-up that finish 27-9 overall and 13-5 in SEC action – was picked to finish in the bottom third of the league after losing eight players for a variety of reasons.

The Razorbacks were picked to finish 11th out of the 14 teams as the league held SEC Basketball Media Day Wednesday in Charlotte, N.C.

“We have a lot of questions that need answers,” Arkansas head coach Mike Anderson said. “I think it is going to be a group that will work and do things by committee.

Anderson noted that he may be short-handed, but likes what he has seen out of the current Razorbacks so far in practice.

“I believe in efficient basketball and our guys playing efficient minutes,” Anderson said. “They go all out.

“We will be a work in progress. Our guys are working hard. This team has to find an identity.

“We want to force turnovers. Defensive pressure is big in what we do."

Anderson, senior guard Anthlon Bell and junior center Moses Kingsley represented Arkansas at media day on Wednesday.
