Of all the weekends that he could have taken his official visit, Arkansas linebacker commit Alexy Jean-Baptiste of Pompano Beach, Fla., Coconut Creek believes he picked the right one.
Jean-Baptiste (6-2, 210) was among those in attendance to see the Razorbacks down Auburn 54-46 in four overtimes Saturday before 72,008 fans.
“I had a whole lot of fun and it just one of the best weekends of my life,” Jean-Baptiste said. “That was the best game I have ever been to. The fans were just amazing. They were so supportive and so loud.
“The team refused to lose. I can’t wait to be a part of that.”
Jean-Baptiste was able to make the trip because his 5-3 team played on Thursday night last week, notching a 64-13 win over Stranahan.
It was his third trip to Fayetteville after coming a pair of time this summer.
“I had the chance this time to just see everything about the school and not just the football stuff,” Jean-Baptiste said. “It made me know even more that it is the right place for me.
His host was Arkansas freshman T.J. Smith, who is redshirting this season.
“T.J. is a great guy and he showed me a good time,” Jean-Baptiste said. “He told me a lot of things about the school, about the team and how things go at Arkansas.
“It was fun hanging out with him. We had a good time and he let me know everything I needed to know.”
Jean-Baptiste made it clear that he was a solid as a commit as he can be.
“There is no other place for me than Arkansas,” Jean-Baptiste said. “It is a perfect fit for me.”
