Alecia Cooley scored 15 points in her Arkansas debut, leading the Razorbacks to a 97-53 season-opening win over Southeastern Louisiana on Friday at Bud Walton Arena.
Cooley, a junior college transfer, also had nine rebounds before fouling out of the game. She was one of seven newcomers to play in the game for Arkansas.
Returners Jessica Jackson and Khadijah West scored 13 points apiece and added 10 and nine rebounds, respectively. Junior Kelsey Brooks added 11 points and freshman Malica Monk scored 10 points in her Arkansas debut.
The Razorbacks opened the game on an 8-0 run and never trailed. Arkansas led by 17 at the end of the first quarter and 51-25 at halftime.
The Razorbacks made 37 of 88 field goal attempts and out-rebounded the Lady Lions 59-34.
Arkansas forced 27 turnovers and converted them into 26 points. Eleven Razorbacks made at least one shot in the win.
Peaches Anderson scored 20 points and had six rebounds to lead Southeastern Louisiana.
The Razorbacks are scheduled to play again Sunday against Sam Houston State at Bud Walton Arena.
