Arkansas Recruiting Report, 1-15: Arkansas Offers Juco LB Kapri Doucet

Arkansas hands out an offer to Scranton, PA., Lackawanna Community College linebacker Kapri Doucet - a first-team Junior College All-American - after Razorback head coach Bret Bielema and defensive coordinator Robb Smith met with him.

Arkansas head football coach Bret Bielema and Razorback defensive coordinator Rob Smith are working on some immediate help for their 2016 defense.

The Arkansas duo were in to visit Scranton, Pa., Lackawanna linebacker Kapri Doucet (6-3, 233) on Friday morning and offered the first-team junior college All-American linebacker and recent Arizona de-commit a scholarship.

“Football is football,” Doucet told the Arizona Daily Star. “You go and get the person with the ball. That’s how I’ve always viewed it. As long as I’m on the field, it doesn’t matter to me.”

Doucet, who had 59 tackles and 17 1/2 stops for lost yardage this season for Lackawanna, also has offers from Louisville, Oklahoma, Iowa State, Nebraska, West Virginia and others.

“I feel like I haven’t scratched the surface of my ability, of what I’m capable of doing,” Doucet told the Arizona Star recently. “I feel like I can do 10 times better than I did in junior college with the proper training and nutrition.”

Doucet is slated to visit Louisville this weekend and Oklahoma on Jan. 22-24. Arkansas is hoping for that last visit on Jan. 29-31.

Doucet, who is from Bruton Hugh in Williamsburg, Va., and is a friend of former Razorback basketball player Stefan Welsh, had committed to Arizona in late December before changing his mind after some recent staff changes at the school.
