Arkansas is hoping that a top-notch defensive end from Texas will make the decision to be a Razorback on Wednesday.
Shepherd, Texas, three-star star Jonathan Marshall (6-4, 275) - a current Oklahoma State pledge - took an official visit to Fayetteville this weekend.
“I like it, it’s real nice,” Marshall said. “Everything around here is good…there was a whole bunch of impressive things around here. The academic support around here, and the football facilities. It helped me out a lot.”
His mom came on the trip with Marshall, who had 71 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, and five forced fumbles as a junior.
“She liked it, she loved it,” Marshall said. “She’s Arkansas-down already.”
Marshall was hosted by current Arkansas defensive tackle Taiwan Johnson.
“He said it’s the best place (for me),” Marshall said.
Marshall said Sunday that he would likely let the Arkansas and Oklahoma State coaches know of his decision either today or Monday, but wait until national signing date on Wednesday to announce it publicly.
Marshall, who was committed to TCU earlier in the process, is known as a pass rusher.
“I’m very good at the pass rush,” Marshall said. “I just need to work on my hands a little bit more and get people’s hands off my chest.”
