DE Marshall Flips To Arkansas

Arkansas picks up a commitment from Shepherd, Texas, defensive end Jonathan Marshall (6-4, 275), who had been committed to Oklahoma State.

Add a talented pass rusher to the recruiting haul that Arkansas will be signing on Wednesday's national signing date.

Shepherd, Texas defensive end Jonathan Marshall (6-4, 275) conformed that he has flipped from Oklahoma State to Arkansas.

Marshall took an official visit to Arkansas this past weekend and privately committed to the Razorbacks while in Fayetteville.

Marshall is the 21st pledge for the Razorbacks in the 2016  recruiting class.

“I like it, it’s real nice,” Marshall said. “Everything around here is good…there was a whole bunch of impressive things around here. The academic support around here, and the football facilities. It helped me out a lot.”

His mom came on the trip with Marshall,  who had 71 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, and five forced fumbles as a junior.

“She liked it, she loved it,” Marshall said. “She’s Arkansas-down already.”

Marshall was hosted by current Arkansas defensive tackle Taiwan Johnson.

“He said it’s the best place (for me),” Marshall said.

Marshall, who was committed to TCU earlier in the process, is known as a pass rusher.

“I’m very good at the pass rush,” Marshall said.  “I just need to work on my hands a little bit more and get people’s hands off my chest.”
