Brandon Allen's throwing hand was measured at what is a small NFL size of 8 1/2 inches at the Senior Bowl. He's in the process of taking care of that issue.
Allen told reporters at the NFL combine that he's added close to a half inch inch to his hand with some stretching and massaging exercises over the last few weeks.
"I've had five sessions with therapists," Allen said. "I'm up to 8 7/8 and I my goal is to be at 9 inches for pro day (in Fayetteville). Multiple people have helped me work on it.
"What I'm told is that the muscles in my hand are very tight. I'm working to get the hand muscles loose. I'm trying to grow my hand."
Allen was also asked about the possibility of his younger brother Austin taking his place at Arkansas.
"He's got a good shot," Brandon said. "He's been backing me up for two years and has the upper hand. It will be a competition. They are not going to hand it to him."
How are the Allen brothers similar?
"We are very similar," he said. "I might be more hands on as far as personality. But as far as how we play, very similar. He's got a strong arm and can make all of the throws. He's very tough. He's a competitor."
