Those who didn’t get enough of Arkansas’ football win over Texas in 2014 in Houston can apparently get some of the pair in basketball in the same city in 2016.
CBS college basketball writer Jon Rothstein reported Wednesday that the Razorbacks and Longhorns will be part of a hoops doubleheader in Houston on Dec. 17.
The other game will feature Arizona and Texas A&M and will happen at the Toyota Center, home of the NBA’s Houston Rockets.
The Razorbacks and Longhorns have not met in basketball since Texas’ 79-46 win over Arkansas in Austin in 2011, which cut the Razorbacks’ lead to 85-67 in the all-time series.
Arkansas’ football program did humble Texas 31-7 in the 2014 Texas Bowl in Houston.
Rothstein had reported on Tuesday that Arkansas was opening a home-and-home series this season with Minnesota.
The Razorbacks and Gophers will meet in Minneapolis this season and then play in Fayetteville the following campaign.
Arkansas is also set to take a exhibition tour of Spain Aug. 6-16 with four games to be played in Valenica, Madrid and Barcelona.
